Years of enjoyment invited a duct tape repair to hold this book together. I began its restoration by removing the tape for replacement with a bookcloth spine giving new life to an often used volume. Replacement of its archival paper cover and reproduction of its cover photo gave new life to this ...

The poems of Lord Byron is a family heirloom that had suffered the ravages of time. I was able to create a new leather spine to complete the case. Major restructuring of the text block was essential to restoring the volume for future use.

The cover of this unique volume of works attributed to Matisse had faded over the years. I was able to tint the cover to its original color and replace the Japanese stab binding that had deteriorated from years of wear.

My client's mother used this book for many years as an art educator. I was able to stabilize the text block, add a new cloth spine, and protect the corners of the cover with bookcloth overlay. With the help of the internet, I was able to replicate the original illustration on the cover.

This beautiful book contains a collection of watercolor drawings by Matisse. Over time, the cover color had faded from bright yellow to vanilla. I was able to retint the cover to its original hue. In addition, the Japanese stab binding required replacement as the original fiber had become degrade...

I took my great grandmothers bible and also another book of hers that was in terrible condition. I picked out the binding she recommended and was extremely happy with the results. Both are in beautiful condition now so others in the family can look through them without fear. Thank you Meryl. I have recommended your work to others. Linda Mulay

Working with Meryl was a marvelous experience! Her knowledge of books, her timely communication with me and her fine craftsmanship were the best. I had taken a small Shakespeare Birthday Book from the late 1800's to her that I feared was beyond repair. It contained detailed family entries from that era. I delivered it to Meryl, fallen apart into many pieces in a plastic bag and sought her advice. She understood the sentimental value and shared her thoughts with me regarding the restoration process necessary. The work began. It was a thrill to be able to then give this beautifully restored keepsake to our daughter as a Mother's Day gift, bringing her to tears. It is now absolutely beautiful and I trust it will be shared by our family for generations to come. Meryl is a treasure!

What I really liked about Meryl's website is that, unlike many other bookbinders I looked up, she can provide you with an estimate online. It also turns out that Meryl is wonderful to work with, professional and personable. We have never met but I hope that someday we will!
